Green Earth Fair

The 2014 Green Earth Fair took place on May 4th and was a big success.

Save the date for the 2015 Green Earth Fair: May 3rd, 2015!

"Celebrating Sustainability" was the 2014 theme for this educational and fun event. Speakers, exhibits, music, food, kids' activities, tours, demonstrations…a celebration of Spring, Earth Day, organic food, combined with learning more about how you can live green!

This was our 11th annual Green Earth Fair, and we are leaving this posting in place for a while for your information.

Information about the 2014 Fair

Listen to experts speaking about nutrition, renewable energy, organic gardening and lawn care, landscaping with native plants, and more.

Spend some time listening to live music—sit on the grass or chairs in front of the Main Stage, listening to solo artists and bands; acoustic and electric. Some new, some favorites from past years! More details below.

In the Kids' Garden, children may plant seeds, explore the soil for critters, make bird feeders, and learn about healthy foods. Near the Main Stage, children can make their own musical instruments from recycled materials, then participate in the Children's Parade at 3:00 pm.

The parade will be led by Ruby the Redbird (the inimitable Carolyn Finzer, decked out as a cardinal), assisted by members of the Madison Jr. High School (Naperville) band. The children’s parade will be quite a sight to see and hear as it winds around the campground, accompanied by beaming parents!

Want to help? I would like to volunteer at the Fair

Watch for "Ruby Redbird” the Cardinal, our Illinois State Bird (a.k.a. Carolyn Finzer) fluttering around the fair! Carolyn Finzer, a lifelong Naperville resident, is widely known as an educator, artist, and storyteller. Her colorful costumes are legend.

Plant Sale

Purchase organic tomato, sweet pepper, hot pepper, eggplant, basil, and sage seedlings to take home for your garden, patio, or window sill. If they are ready in time, we will also have broccoli, cauliflower, and Swiss chard seedlings. Buy rain barrels for your house and learn about making a rain garden. Purchase native plants for landscaping at your home.

Don't miss it! Tell your friends!
