Green Scene Programs for 6th-9th Graders
Has your child outgrown our summer camps in age but not passion? If so, our new Green Scene programs might be just right for him or her! This summer we are pleased to introduce two programs for "tweens" and teens entering 6th through 9th grade. Pre-registration required!
Description and registration form are at Green Scene.
2008 Summer Children's Programs
This summer, the Green Earth Institute will again provide our popular series of children's educational programs for youngsters from pre-school age through 5th grade.
Kids Touch the Earth Day Camps
Elementary-age children are invited to participate in day camps at the farm. Ten one-week sessions will run Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The children will explore gardening with hands-on activities including planting, tending, and harvesting vegetables, herbs, and flowers. There will be nature exploration and learning about the food we grow through crafts and games. Each child will plant and take home a container garden.
Nature on the Farm for Parents and Tots
Geared for children ages 3 to 5 (entering kindergarten) with an accompanying adult, Nature on the Farm will meet once a week on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Parents and toddlers will have adventures of discovery in the garden, woods, wetlands, and farm yard using age-appropriate songs, stories, guided play, and nature walks. Sessions will meet once a week for a month, May through September. Activities will vary from session to session, and you may sign up for multiple sessions.
The schedule and registration form are available to download. Questions may be directed to Education@GreenEarthInstitute.org or 630-664-5859.
